This course takes an anatomical approach to the study of the eleven organ systems of the human body. Using form and function as a guiding principle, we will examine body structures, how tissues build organs, how systems function together to produce the essential processes of life, and the impacts of disease. Students will learn and practice anatomical language through the exploration of clinical scenarios and the use of medical imaging for diagnosis applications. In the laboratory, students will gain a deeper understanding of human structures that are discussed in lecture using models, histology, dissection, and virtual tools.
