Religious Studies Minor
Requirements for the Religious Studies Minor
The minor consists of a minimum of five courses, including at least one seminar and no more than two 100-level courses. Three of the five courses, including a seminar, should be within an area of concentration chosen by the student in consultation with and approved by the departmental advisor. Subject to departmental approval, students minoring in Religious Studies may import one course taken in another department or at another institution in the US or overseas. Exceptionally, students minoring in Religious Studies may import a second course taken at another institution, if there is no equivalent course offered at Wellesley. The required 300-level course must be taken in the department.
Language Study
For some students, studies in the original languages of religious traditions will be especially valuable. Majors and minors interested in pursuing language study should consult their advisors to discuss opportunities for appropriate courses of study.
