Comparative Literary Studies Minor

The requirements for the minor are as follows: Five units of coursework are required for the minor, all of which must be from the CPLT curriculum (including courses that are cross-listed with other departments) and must include CPLT 180: Introduction to Comparative Literature and the capstone course CPLT 375: Translation and the Multilingual World. For the minor, we encourage (but do not require) students to take one course that focuses substantially on material outside the modern period (before 1900) and one that focuses substantiallyon material outside the western tradition.  The "Additional Courses" as listed in the catalog may count towards the five required units for the minor.
